Chemotherapy – Which Is Best?

Cancer can affect all parts of the body. It can be detected in any area of the body at any moment. There are several different types of cancers. These include lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, liver cancer, kidney cancer, nasal cancer, skin cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, Hodgkin’s disease, kidney cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, bone cancer, leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, skin cancer, Hodgkin’s disease, bone marrow cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, throat cancer, oral cancer, colon cancer, gallbladder cancer, cervical cancer, liver cancer, prostate cancer, and Hodgkin’s disease. Cancer has no exact cause, but certain risk factors seem to increase the chance of developing cancer.

How Chemotherapy works

A combination of medications is used in chemotherapy to kill cancer cells. This therapy involves the use of medications to treat the cancer as well as the surrounding tumors. Commonly used drugs are anti-cancer agents such as doxorubicin, trichloroacetic acid, anastrozole, cisplatin, methotrexate, etc. Radiation therapy, also known as radiotherapy, is another treatment that can be used to kill cancer cells.

Secondary Cancer Treatments

The secondary treatment for cancer includes surgery, hormone therapy, pharmacological therapy and targeted therapy. Advanced surgical techniques are used to surgically remove tumor cells. Hormone therapy is used to treat tumors in the hormones of cancer patients. Pharmacological therapy can either be used to treat the cancer directly or to slow the growth of tumor cells.

Once cancer is diagnosed, there are many treatment options. A patient may require more than one treatment option depending on the type of cancer. The stage of cancer, location, stage and stage again of the tumor will all affect the treatment options. Treatment options depend on the extent of the cancer, its location and the type of treatment. Some cancers can spread to other areas of the body and require surgery to remove the whole tumor.

Cancer Surgery

Surgery is the most common primary treatment for cancer. It involves removing the tumor through surgery. The surgery may be minor, such as removing a cyst, or major, such as removing a lung or part of the bone. Radiation therapy may also be used, either directly or to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, and may be done alongside surgery.

After surgery, chemotherapy is the second most popular cancer treatment. Chemotherapy is used to kill cancer cells by injecting drugs into the patient’s body intravenously or through a vein. The drugs are often administered through a vein in order to prevent the drug from interfering with normal blood functions. In addition to chemotherapy, the cancer patient may receive symptom suppressants or even immune system suppressants in an attempt to kill any remaining cancer cells.

Biologicial Cancer Treatments

The third option is biological treatment. Biological therapy is designed to boost the body’s immune system to fight and defeat cancer. This type of therapy is used not only to treat cancer, but also to prevent cancer from recurring. Some people who have been diagnosed with cancer at young ages receive immunotherapy from their doctors to boost their immune system and prevent the disease from returning later.

You may be considering chemotherapy for cancer if your doctor recommends it. However, you should remember that therapy won’t always cure you. Sometimes treatment may fail, and the cancer can return. Remember, there is no ‘cure’ for cancer. Your doctor will make the decision as to what the best course of action will be and will discuss the treatment options with you.
